Murray Meinsteiny Toso Mewers

So, we stopped at PetSmart to get some food and supplies for Missy and Qzarina, and somehow we ended up with a new kitten (we didn't adopt him right away -- we're fostering pending Qzarina's acceptance of him as a playmate, which is really the only reason why we're even considering adopting again so soon).

Meet Murray Meinsteiny Toso Mewers.

"Murray" because we had been saying we would get a male cat next and name him Murray because it's Monty's nickname, and our first male cat together should be Monty's namesake just like Qzarina was mine.  Moreover, it's a name that begins with M and ends with Y, which fits the theme of our family names.  Plus, it's a good kitty name for a cat we can also call the Purry Furry Murray. :)

"Meinsteiny" because his pre-adoption-by-us name was Einstein, and folks at my work really liked the name Einstein for him because one of his baby pictures showed that him to have some "weird," long, wacky fur reminiscent of the scientist, but I said that I couldn't keep Einstein because it's not a name that starts with M and ends with Y.  So then a partner at my firm said, "How about Meinsteiny?" and since then it has become a joke and a name that is embraced by many at my work.  Plus, the partner made me a print-out of Murray's picture with the name Meinsteiny underneath the picture, so I feel like I should keep Meintsteiny somehow.  So it is now Murray's 1st middle name.

"Toso" because everyone in the family is also "the (...) one" of some sort, and Murray has one little round orange spot on his right hind foot, even though the rest of his legs and underbelly and chest is all white.  Also, recently, the same partner who came up with Meinsteiny brought in a children's book called The Big Orange Splot to teach me about why Irvine is "bad," and it's become kind of a code for "standing out is a good thing."  So we thought it would be appropriate, given the little orange splot on Murray's leg, to give him a "the (...) one" name that is The Orange Splotted One.

And 'Mewers" is, of course, our family last name.

Oh, and btw, he is approximately 3 months old, purrs constantly, loves to burrow, likes to chase and be chased by Qzarina, and is a very sweet and loving kitten.
