The Diva does it again...
Well history was made today. In "The race that stops a nation" - The Melbourne Cup - a beautiful 7 yo mare named Makaybe Diva won the cup for the third year in a row. Its like Brisbane winning the premiership 4 years in a row, but better cos I don't hate Makaybe Diva, her team colours are better and I won money on it.
Yes - the only day of the year where I take a punt on the horsies, and I won all of about....$5.40 hahaha I shoulda put more on her, but I can't complain.
Also put the customary bet on horse 5, race 8 as has become my tradition for the last few years. Its name was Kablammo. It was leading for the whole race (only 1800m) until about the 1100m mark, dropped back and came second last. Bloody thing. I had $3 on it to place too (only cos the lady at the TAB said that a card couldn't be less than $3 worth, ARGH!!) I coulda put that on the Diva! Ahhh well thats gambling for ya and the reason why I only do it once a year.
In other news - it was a beautiful hot day today - I think its safe to say that summer is here!! We took Max for a walk round Lilydale Lake this morning and I gave him a bath this arvo - he smells so pretty now, definately not like dog hehe. And he's so cute when he's just washed - he gets all soft and fluffy hehe.
So yeah - if anyone has or knows someone that has a time machine, lemme know (and not like the one in Napolean Dynamite :oP)
