Reaction to 11x16, "Safe House"
That was such a cool episode :) It felt like oldschool Supernatural, what with the creepy monster to fight and all the glorious banter! I love Sam and Dean banter best, obviously, but a very close second is the banter twixt Bobby and Rufus. MAN it was great seeing them in action again :) And the way they showed the parallels between Season 5 (stop that Apocalypse) and Season 11 (Apocalypse 2: Amara's Electric Bugaloo) were so well done. The editing was great, the music was great ("Midnight Rider" at long, long last!!!!), the special effects were cool, and those trapped souls with the blackened mouths? CREEPY. I haven't been that creeped out by Show in years. I absolutely loved it :)
So yeah, I honestly don't have much to say because I just enjoyed it so much! About the only thing that annoyed me was Sam taking a ridiculously long time drawing that sigil. I mean COME ON, it needs to be done right, fine, but Dean was in trouble--in the nest, no less!--and HE still managed to draw that sigil correctly but quickly. Sheeshery, Sammy. ::shakes head at him:: At least he brought Dean's winning streak at Rock, Paper, Scissors to a quick end, LOL. Ya got greedy, Dean. Tsk tsk. But I can't exactly blame you for trying ;)
Wish we could get more of the "Grumpy Old Men of Letters," hehe :) Aww. I miss those guys.
So on to next week, which I fully expect, sadly, will be a Sam version of the classic and incomparable "In My Time of Dying," what with Billie, a reaper, not wanting to let a dying Sam go back to the world of the living. Prove me wrong, Show, and do something different, PLEASE!
