Let's talk about anime

I haven't started Birth By Sleep yet. I'm gonna talk about anime instead. I got addicted to crunchyroll for a while, so I've actually seen a bunch of fairly recent stuff. I'm pretty picky about what I sit down and watch so I think a lot of these I started because somebody I know or admire mentioned them? Anyway, I'm gonna try to lay down some opinions while keeping it relatively spoiler-free. I'll try to say something about pretty much everything I can remember watching in the past year, so it might not be all new stuff. Oh, also, maybe some pictures? I will draw my favorite character for each series.

Finished Series
Tsuritama: This is the cutest, gayest anime about fishing imaginable. I swear, every single character in it is adorable. Even the minor ones. It's a short one too, only like 11 episodes? So it's something I've recommended to a lot of people.

Everyone is so cute but for some reason I really like Akira. Tapioca is pretty great too.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica: I kept hearing about this one and eventually tried to watch this once but was kind of turned off by the art style. Later I went back and watched it all the way through and actually kind of liked it. And yes, it's pretty messed up! Interesting though.

At the end Homura was my favorite character, but I liked Mami's design the best.

Tiger and Bunny: Oh maaan this series was so great. The first series I got really into in a long time. And I was even watching it as soon as I could as it came out and keeping track of fandom stuff, which was also pretty fantastic.

Ivan is adorable.

Fate/Zero: So I never saw any Fate/whatever stuff before this which I have heard is probably good because this series is so much better than the one before, which it's a prequel to? I'll probably watch it eventually even though some people have told me not to bother. I kind of want to watch this one again one of these days too.

Waver is my favorite master, Gilgamesh is my favorite servant, but I hate drawing his jewelry so I just took away all his clothes, deal with it.

Mawaru Penguindrum: I'll be honest, I don't think I really have any idea what was going on in this series even when it was over. It was pretty though, and maybe one of these days I'll go back and try to figure it out.

Sanetoshi was fabulous, even though I'm not really quite sure who he was, haha.

Natsuyuki Rendevous: I usually don't pay attention to this sort of series but a friend of mine mentioned it at some point and I had nothing better to do so I watched it and it was actually pretty interesting. It's a romance, but it's also a ghost story.

There were really only four characters in this series to begin with, so.

Ongoing Series/things I'm not caught up on

La Storia Della Arcana Famiglia: Okay admittedly, this is not a particularly good anime. I wouldn't know anything about the game it's based on, obviously, but the plot and storytelling in the anime are a complete mess, and when even I notice something like that, it's really bad. However, I do like the premise and I kind of love the characters. I really want to get the art book, because the game art is really pretty. I'm probably going to continue to keep up with it and wish I had anybody to flail about it with because this is one of the few recent series I watched and started shipping people in a while, haha.

I think I latched onto these three pretty quickly. Jolly too, I want to know more about all of them!

Shirokuma Cafe: omg this show is so cute. Baffling, but adorable. I want to be a part-time panda!

I can't even pick favorites, haha. Also I am terrible at drawing animals oops.

Jellyfish Princess: One of my friends brought this to our little get-together yesterday and it was really kind of great. It's kind of sad how much I identify with the girls in it though, haha. Yay social awkwardness. I really want to see the rest and try to look up the manga sometime!

I don't know why but I really liked Mayaya. :D;

Okay I think I missed a couple series but doing this is kind of exhausting! I'm super bad at talking about series like this though, I think I just kind of derp it up because I don't really know what to say, especially when I'm trying not to spoil anything. I guess I will never be a critic! Which is no surprise, because I always sucked at it. This is more of a "hey, these are some things I watched" post I guess. Maybe I'll go back and do it again every once in a while.
