What, more children's books?

So I might be meeting with someone about another children's book over in Roanoke...have no idea what this one is though. I told her I'd charge $50 for each simple picture for something intended to be published, with implications that depending on what it is it could be more, but I have no idea if that's a good thing to do. It's not like I can back out now though. I'm guessing nobody's gonna want to pay more than that...they probably don't want to pay that much either, but there's no way I'm using my con commission prices for something they might want to mass-produce. Theoretically there should be some sort of royalties involved as well, but I have no idea how to deal with that, and I'm guessing nobody else wants to either. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do... Urrgh, I'm so bad at this. I need like, an agent or some shit. Somebody is going to seriously rip me off someday, and I won't have any idea how to deal with it, and will therefore just roll over and mope about it. Sigh.

But seriously...it seems like everyone and their mother wants to make a damn children's book. What is up with that, anyway? Is there no other reason you might want an illustrator? Someday I am going to become a children's book illustrator who hates children, and it will be glorious. Okay...that...probably won't be that glorious at all.

Still not getting work done for AnimeFest...though I did manage to finish inking a couple of gaia commissions. Which I guess is kind of productive, though I've kind of been floating away from gaia since I got reported for trolling. e_e I knew there was a reason I avoided talking to people on internet forums.

children's books, illustration, craigslist, gaia, fail
