花見 (hanami - flower viewing) in Norwich

Mar 26, 2017 12:07

Spring has arrived in East Anglia and to celebrate I had a quick whizz round the flowery bits around Norwich Cathedral to take some photos. Here's the 桜 (sakura - cherry blossom) outside the Shiki (四季 - four seasons) Japanese restaurant we go to a lot. This is St George's Tombland which has a very ancient highway running behind it.

St George's has some very lovely plantings in its graveyard and it's full of bulbs a this time of year.

The apse of Norwich Cathedral with a magnolia in sunlight (just look at those lovely Romanesque arches)

The flowers at the Old Hospital were very beatiful too and well worth a visit.
