I was recently asked, "Why did you quit?"
Interesting question, which sheds considerable light on the questioner's perspective.
What must be acknowledged at some point is that all paths - including this one - run the high risk of dead-ending into madhouses where the inmates, long-starved, will tear away at anything and anyone within their reach.
Knowing we cannot cure the madmen, knowing we cannot even slake their thirst, is the first step toward the true goal of the path.
Freedom.
Why did I quit?
To be free of the madness.
...and also... keep in mind that believing someone else has "quit" may only reveal your own limited perceptions and your own self-importance - implying abandonment. What I do elsewhere on the net... remains within my silence. What I do elsewhere in the real world... remains within my experience.
Be free.
Even if it means slaughtering the madmen and burning the madhouse to the ground.
Be. Free.
