Unbending Intent

For instance, what does unbending intent mean? What does it look like? How does one determine its presence? Is it a raging fire or a slow steady flame? does it matter? Does it imply a kind of 'rigidity' on/of the path?

To me, unbending intent is fluid, first and foremost.  I proved this to myself many years ago with my experiements regarding the creation of reality at a molecular level. To use a silly example I've written about before, I once said to myself that I wanted to see a red hearse before I got home.  In the middle of the desert, middle of summer, middle of nowhere, this seemed unlikely.  Well, as I pulled up to a stop sign, there, facing me in the oncoming lane was a WHITE hearse... but it bore the license plate:  "1RED338".  I had to laugh, of course - it was a hearse, but not a red one, yet the word "red" was there for all to see.  Ditto for other experiments in the same vein.  I once said I wanted to see a lion before we got home, and came around a bend in the freeway to see a sign in Hollywood in the shape of a lion's head, with a sign beneath advertising the play, THE LION KING.

There have been other such manifestations as well, but what's interesting to me is that if I am rigid in my attempts, I will get nothing.  The trick is to intend the thing clearly and then release it, so that the energy of intent may then find its path toward manifestation.  All the intent in the world is useless if it is held too tight.  So, when you ask what unbending intent looks like, my take would be that it is an actual force of energy no different than wind or rain or nuclear power or what have you.  It can literally manifest reality or change our personal world, but if it is not fluid (allowing for interpretation within the realm of all possibility), we may thwart ourselves with some vain effort to "control" what we hope to bring into manifestation.  If I had insisted that ONLY a "real" lion would suffice, I would have missed the magic and the humor inherent in the magic itself.

With regard to the bigger picture of freedom past the eagle, I once said to the nagual, "I give you permission to be whatever you need to be in order to teach me."  IOW, I had had certain expectations all my life, but only when I released those expectations and gave them over to Power did the path really begin to unfold for me.  The result is that I've been truly "blessed" (through my own Intent) with manifestations from the nagual that have been nothing like I could have imagined or predicted.  Intent has prevailed through its own force.

Many people hold deep rooted ideas about what a nagual or 'enlightened' being should 'look' or 'walk' or 'sound' like. For instance, what if they drink? smoke? gamble? have lots of sex? what if it's kinky sex? heh heh. What if they do stumble, fall, bang into walls? :-) Then what? What if theres nothing 'perfect' or 'ideal' about them?

If you find a "perfect" nagual, I would strongly suggest running as fast as possible in the other direction.  That's one of the common misconceptions - and one of the prevailing causes of the downfall of would-be "apprentices".  The Sustained Action site is riddled with people who thought/believed Carlos was "supposta" be something other than what he was.  He was "supposta" burn with the fire from within - but what matters in that equation is how someone would define "burning with the fire from within."  Their own rigid belief systems would only "allow" Carlos to be what THEY thought he SHOULD be, instead of looking at the truths he had put before them - and now, as a result, they are hurling blame and grief and confusion years after the man died.

Naguals are simply human beings with a connection to the infinite.  Most of them are neither perfect nor anywhere close because they are human beings.  Sure, many have lost their humanform, but that does NOT mean they are glowing beings of light who don't take a crap in the morning or don't bleed if you cut them.  Through impeccability, a nagual or a warrior does the best she can - but the bodies we inhabit are nonetheless organic constructs that have fatal flaws.  Carlos allegedly died of liver cancer, and to those stuck in their rigid notion of what a nagual "should" be, that invalidates everything he ever said or did. To me - that is just the way in which an apprentice chooses to disempower herself - by looking at the flaws of the messenger instead of the truths contained in the message.
