Mind is a razorblade

I'm considering getting another tattoo. I think every year on my birthday I consider this but this year I definitely want one. I got my first (and only one) when I was 18 as a birthday present to myself, and it's my birthday next Saturday, so maybe in the next few weeks I will have a new one? Exciting!

I went for a job interview on Thursday, pretty much for the job I have right now, only on a permanent basis rather than at a temp and I'm pretty damn happy to say I was offered the job. What happened was this: The university I work at had a huge restructuring over the last 2 years and as a result had 60 administrative posts available. They had this thing last week called the 'assessment centre' where they picked 110 people (of the 200) who applied for the jobs and essentially gave us 6 hours worth of tasks to work through (you know the drill: Microsoft word, Excel, using initiative and working in teams etc). Also it included free lunch (Watch in awe as I stuffed half the sandwich buffet into my face) and all the tea you could drink. Marry me you flawless caterers. I was terrified afterwards because we had been told we wouldn't hear back until Monday as to whether we had the jobs or not, so me and a friend went up to the main uni campus and assaulted the student bar. It was fun but I had a headache afterwards. So yes, I applied for the job I am doing right now and got it! Hurrah! Last week was the week I handed in my final psychology essay too so all in all it was a load off my mind. With all this happening...this is the first time in a very long time that I've been genuinely happy in my life.

Two friends were kind enough to buy me a ticket and occupancy me to London Film and Comic con next weekend, as well as a ticket to have my photo taken with my wife Karen Gillan. It's on my birthday! Can you tell that I'm pretty damn psyched about this? I also brought my ticket for Asylum 7 as well a few days ago. I can actually afford it now.

Last night I discovered that the earth shatteringly beautiful Stark Sands is currently in Cats in the US. I can't believe one of the guys I love gets paid to dress (and sing and dance) as a cat. It's hilarious...but why is he not in my bed?

the job situation, life is weird, conventions are fun
