Me, for many years past: "Can we please add this cool feature to our core product? I know it will take resources, but our core product is what brings cash in the door. Pleeeeease?"
Senior Management, for many years past: "Silly frosh! Of course not! We need to build other products! (Even though the last 3 or 4 were utter flops...) More products!"
Competitor: "HAI THERE. WE'RE GOIN 2 UNDERCUT U ON PRICE BIATCHES!"
Senior Management: "Um... Can we beef up our main product? We need it to be cooler to justify the price."
