I have been meaning to post some photos from a recent hike up to Multnomah Falls. I knew that the Columbia River Gorge was beautiful, but I had never explored above the main tourist trail going up Larch Mountain (going beyond the top part of the falls that you see in all the famous photos). Gorgeous photos! I've only seen the classic postcard shot of Multnomah- I had no idea there was so much more to it.

It is well worth exploring about the paved part of the trail. But be warned, it is exhausting too! My muscles were so stiff and achy for days following the hike, but it was an acceptable price to pay.
