“Junno, do you mind getting today’s papers from the mailbox?”
“Okay”, he answers without any effort to move - lazily splayed out on the carpet under the kotatsu is a much cosier place.
Tatsuya looks at him from across the room, his forehead crinkled deep in thought, mumbling - “Why can’t you let things happen according to plan for once?”
But before Junno can reply, Tatsuya speeds across the room and sweeps him off his feet. Junno yelps, clinging tightly around Tatsuya’s neck, his eyes wide as Tatsuya hurries them over to the doorway.
He then suddenly stops, and quickly stretches up to kiss the still confused Junno under the mistletoe, “Merry Christmas, you lazy bum”.

On Christmas Eve, they left the cosiness of their apartment and went out for an evening dinner - their hands snuggly locked in affection walking down the street; they were on their way to one of those restaurants on the high floors in Sky Tree.
When as soon as they reached the restaurant door, the sound of bells chimed then immediately, the reception hostess greeted them - the other staff popping confetti.
“Congratulations”, she said, a cheery smile on her lips.
Tatsuya and Junno looked at each other, clearly puzzled, then back to the hostess for an explanation. It’s then that she pointed above their heads. “As our twenty-seventh couple for the evening, we’ll have you kiss under the mistletoe”.
Junno blushed, surveying the busy restaurant, all eyes on them are eyes brighter than the stars that guided the wise men. But then he looked down and found Tatsuya smirking up at him.
So before Junno could refuse, Tatsuya pulled him down in a sweeping kiss while everyone cheered.
Junno also kissed the daylight out of him.

Time flies and just as soon, winter came with white falling from the sky.
And while the rest of the world buzzed with twinkling lights and angels and stars on trees and hummed to jolly songs, Junno barely had time to even think just how lonely this season in December had found him.
Now after work on a half packed train, he debated whether to call it a night and go home or at least take a short detour before. He sighed, his forehead crinkled in a frown - his whole face tight when suddenly, he noticed his distressed reflection in the train doors, but just as closely, was the man behind him, watching him.
Junno fidgeted and immediately looked away. But just as quickly, he found himself looking back and when their eyes met again - what happened next sent Junno’s heart in flutters.
He smiled at Junno.
It was just a tiny shake of his lips but while Junno still felt exposed, a bit of warmth had reached him.
Thankfully though, his stop soon came, so he alight the train and headed for the Yebisu Beer Garden. He’d seen the illuminations before looking grand in magazines and had heard coworkers talking about it being the ideal place for lovers - never mind - for tonight, he would be his own holiday date.
The illumination didn’t disappoint - climb the steps and it’s reindeers and dazzling rainbow lights everywhere - musical notes, merrily sleighing through the air.
But even more picturesque and magical, is the man standing under the grand Christmas Tree smiling at Junno as though he’d been waiting for him.
“I’m Tatsuya,” he said, his eyes shining and even more beautiful than the tree or anyone around. “And Santa dropped me off for you. ho ho ho”.
Junno smiled and walked closer - a grin then slowly drawing on his lips. “Then it’s a good thing I played good boy all year round”, he replied, pulling his scarf a bit looser, trying to breathe.
His season was about to get festive.
