Fortune
I got this awesome fortune in a fortune cookie last night. It goes along with my general mental state:
"Each day begins in darkness;
don't overvalue the light."
Friggin rad.
On another indication of my mental state, I was sitting there at the dinner where I received the fortune, and I was enjoying the tea, going, man, this is pretty good green tea - it's got flavors that I don't normally associate with green tea, like fruits and something kinda sugary. Well, at the end of the meal, I looked down and it was "LIPTON". No, not Lipton green tea, just regular old Lipton. Which I pretty much resolved never to stoop to drink.
And then, after the shock of enjoying Lipton, at about 10:30 when I usually wind down toward not overvaluing the light, I found myself unable to sleep. And that's because Lipton is full of caffeine. That's right, it sucks, so there's not much tea, but plenty of fruits and caffeine. Two things that I haven't had very much of in like 5 years, and there I was stuck in the afterglow, unable to sleep.
But oddly, I had a great sleep that night, since I recognized that I was high on caffeine, and I just laid down comfortably, sat in contemplation, and didn't expect to go to sleep any time soon. Eventually the caffeine wore off and I dozed into a nice sleep.
