For
fandomverse 's favorite character challenge. :D
01; she's beautiful
It may be a shallow reason, but while Catherine Tate may not
fit everyone's definition of beautiful, I think she's gorgeous.
She's not perfect, but it's nice to see someone flawed.
Plus, the character is beautiful inside and out.
02; she's hilarious
Doctor Who is supposed to be a nice, light-hearted show, but it gets deep,
and Donna adds a layer of humor to the complexity of the show.
And the humor isn't forced; CT's comedic timing,
facial expressions, and inflections are spot-on.
03; she challenges the Doctor
While I like most of the Doctor's other companions, Donna has a certain spunk
that not only challenges the Doctor, but makes her seem like his equal.
He's not always saving her, nor is she always saving him.
She's not afraid to speak her mind or question his "authority."
04; she works toward the greater good
Donna is hardly a selfish character as Season 4 rolls onward.
She often places her family and others before herself, and
Turn Left (pictured above) is a perfect example of this courage.
She's strong, not just for herself but for everyone else.
05; she's real
This character is human. She has fears, hopes, insecurities, strengths and weaknesses.
She changes from our first meeting in Runaway Bride until her fate in Journey's End.
The character has a natural progression; she has flaws,
she has feelings, she's honest, she's real.
