Ryan arrived in the world this morning, 16th May, at 0053am weighing in at 7lb 15oz. He was delivered by emergency Caesarean Section after 2 days of labour. He was firmly wedged in Carly's pelvis and was in cardiac distress at each contraction so off they went and out popped the most beautiful little boy. Carly was so very brave, in such pain toward the end, and her blood pressure was up. They had quite a bit of trouble anaesthetising her and getting Ryan out was difficult, she was pretty high on drugs and gas by then. He had to be assisted with breathing and took an hour or so to recover in the special care nursery in a humidicrib, but at 3.30 this morning mum and bub were united for the first time. By then he was sleeping and not at all interested in feeding! Is this really an Ellicott???!! He's such a placid little baby, very alert, with big intelligent eyes.
They are in the Gold Coast hospital and will be there for at least 3 days.
Congratulations Stewy and Carly and Ryan. I'm so very proud of you all.
