Evolution! A show on gender, identity, spirituality, and HUGS! [Pls to signal boost!]
Oh hai friends. Friends who have blogs and Twitters and such and may be heading to Wiscon. Hai!
Another friend of mine from the comedy scene is trying to get his show Evolution on the road. But the Kickstarter ain't movin too fast :-/
I saw Evolution at one of its runs @ The Magnet, before Roman and I were on the Circuit team Tiger this winter, and it is a wonderful show! It needs to go to the midwest!
From the Kickstarter:
"Evolution is a solo show based on true experiences as Roman Rimer traveled through the Southern United States with the non-profit Sanctuary Collective to do community organizing with LGBTQ Youth in Christian Communities. Themes of Evolution include spirituality, identity, fear and how they all intersect and affect everyone. Roman also takes off his shirt and runs around!
"Evolution was first performed at The Magnet Theater in NYC in the spring of 2010. This summer, Roman and his director, Louie Pearlman are taking the show to the Chicago, Indianapolis and the Kansas City Fringe Festivals. Evolution is an important work of new theater that brings people together and helps open a dialog about pre-conceived notions of class, gender, violence, and habitat. This is a show not just for the Queer and/or Religious Community but for everybody, regardless of how they identify."
So, donate! Or if you can't donate, signal boost! I think the Wiscon folks especially would like this project.
