This episode was truly the best of everything; humor, romance, friendship, chills and thrills, drama, action, horror. I know it sounds like I’m describing sections in a video rental store, but it can’t be helped; this installment of the Virtual Season combines all these elements seamlessly. Following last week stellar performance,
inspectorboxer comes back with part 2 of Thy Will Be Done and delivers a very powerful chapter, the ending of which, hints at a very intense season finale. But first things first.
After months of investigating and obsessing, the Club finally discovers the identity of Hallelujah Man; unfortunately this revelation doesn’t come soon enough. One of them is assaulted another one is taken and comes within an inch of loosing her life. It takes all of Lindsay’s strength and resolve to find and rescue her friend. And it is with cinematic detail that Inspector Boxer depicts the frantic search and heroic rescue. Putting the life of a beloved character in mortal danger is always a risky endeavor. But Inspector Boxer proves that, when it is carefully and thoughtfully executed, it can have a positive impact on a story.
Until the very last moments, when friends are home safe and almost completely sound, there is hardly time to catch a breath. And as the saying goes - no rest for the weary - the killer is still on the loose, and, as never before, the club will have to work closely and tirelessly to hunt him down.
One more time, striking all the right cords, Inspector Boxer exhibits her immeasurable ability to flawlessly walk the line between the case and the personal life of the characters. So, again, she creates a thoroughly entertaining, over-to-soon reading experience.
Since, apparently, last week I hit HM on the head, I thought I would attempt more theorizing; this time on the season finale. Again, no spoilers. But under cut following favorite moments and lines, just in case…
wmc_vs 1 - The scene where Lindsay realizes that there’s no use arguing with Redhead, hands her a gun, and let’s her follow in the church, has got to be one of my favorites of the entire season.
2 - Lindsay freaking out over Jill and Cindy sharing stories about her, priceless.
3- Lindsay interrogating Abbott. Lindsay in the interrogation room always, hot.
4- “Damn,” Jacobi said with a chuckle. “I was hoping to see you do that underwater cuffing trick again.” Me too!
5- A very excellent, brilliant twist having Cindy use the attic as club HQ.
Season finale theory.
Unlike the HM theory which was based on actual clues, this one is pure speculation and hunches and gut feeling. So… really, this time, I will be completely wrong.
So the episode is going to be all about catching HM now that they know who he is. But while everyone is busy searching for the brutal serial killer, the mysterious watcher *cough* Muffin Man *cough* will choose that moment to reappear and God help his soul when Lindsay finds his little home movies. On second thought, I would rather God look away when she starts pounding him. But the loudest thing my gut is screaming, is if you got rock climbing gear, get it out. It might come in handy if you’re gonna hang on a cliff for 6 months. ‘Cause, really catching HM, finding the cameras and dealing with the voyeur, all in one episode… well, we’ll know soon enough, won’t we?
And if that’s the case, and there’s no VS3? I’ll…I’ll…ah, who am I kidding I could never be angry with any of the VS crew members. I can’t do angry groupie. :)
