It's another ESAR week. I don't feel as psychologically prepared for CII as I did for CI, but I don't feel unprepared for it, either. I do expect it to completely beat me up.

Work is fine, but ramping up very very slowly. For the moment, I feel pretty overqualified for what I'm doing, but I like the environment and the people a lot, so we'll see what things are like once everything settles down. I've got enough side projects to keep me busy...which was the entire point of taking a half-time job. Speaking of which...

I finally got started working on my mom's artist friend Tanya's site. Starting is always the hardest part of a project for me, so this makes me pretty happy. The site is also going to have my translations of her origami poetry on it, which is both really nice and slightly intimidating.

Letter

I'm waiting for a letter. Though I'm certain
That it will not come. And this is reason to be by myself.
A careless swallow shatters the
Heavens. Seeing you is an impossible dream.
I listen to the sounds around me -
You are mute. The ocean separating us is taught as an arrow.
Everything is singing, living, breathing. Only our wordlessness
Hangs like a mordant bullhorn.
The trunk of the pine tree beyond the horizon
Shivers and chills in the wind. I can hear its breath -
How terrifying is this silence!
