I've been off school and work all week, after a visit to the ER Sunday/Monday. They did an ultrasound and bloodwork to rule out another bloodclot. I went to the Prompt Care Clinic today for Xrays. I've been given pain killers and exercises to do, and might need orthotics. I've got a heelspur (which is extra bone growth in the heel) and palantar fasciitis (which is where the main tendon in the foot is shortened and causes friction, swelling, etc.). I've been walking with a crutch most of the time, especially the few times I venture outside the apartment. I've got cleaning to do, and need to do laundry and grocery shopping, but that's a struggle enough when I can walk ok! It sucks that I've been fairly healthy all semester, and then miss out on the last week of classes 'cause I can't even walk!
My birthday was November 19th. I'm not officially a quarter of a century old. In some ways I can't believe how old I am, and in others i still feel so young! Most of the time, I still feel like I'm 22 oe 23, but I am now officially in my mid-twenties! T & G came to visit the Saturday of my birthday; we had our pic taken with Santa at the mall, and they took me for dinner at Red Lobster (where I haven't been in at least a decade). It was a great treat! Dave took me out on the Monday (my actual birthday). We went to Swiss Chalet, which was nice but no suprise. I'd been hoping for a particular amber earring/necklace set to match a bracelet I'd bought myself, but he didn't get me a gift at all! So if anyone does want to get me the rest of the set, they're at
Metalsmiths (there's a kiosk at the Pen Centre and their website says they have locations in at Lime Ridge (Hamilton), Stone Road (Guelph) and Fairview (Kitchener), among others). It's a round cage made of silver with a sphere of amber inside. I'll try to post a pic of the bracelet, so y'all can appreciate that, at least!
The weekend before my birthday, I went up to OS to visit my parents, and my grandparents came down that weekend, too. Things got all messed up at work, and I had to be back for work Monday at 4 p.m. even though my original plans weren't to come back till late Monday, or even Tuesday morning. So I didn't get to visit for nearly long enough, but I had a great time while I was there. And it happened to be a week there was service at the shul, so it was great to see everyone from the synagogue, too!
My parents (and sister) are coming to visit next weekend, since most of my exams will be done by then. I kinda wish my parents were coming this weekend, 'cause I hate being sick and by myself. :(
With work, to make a long story short, they're again having problems accommodating my jaw condition, so they reorganized a bunch of things and trained me to do chat with a company they deal with in the STC office (as opposed to the OWS office, like I was doing before).
I'm sure there's more I could post about, but I'm really just too tired at this point. I think I've got some reading to do (well, with exams coming up, I've no doubt there's tonnes of reading for me to do). And with the Hollywood writers on strike, most shows are repeats.
