Today hasn't gone as I planned. All the fun began when I was taking a shower. Yes, showers are fun, but this one was singular. Right as I was about to get out, I leaned against the wall. My feet didn't hold their ground, though. It was kind of trippy, for I felt as if I were falling in slow motion. My face hit the ridge where the bathtub met the wall. I kept my eyes closed for about a minute. The next thing I knew, (I'll be a teeny bit graphic since this is MY LJ), me di cuenta que yacía en mi propia sangre que se derramaba de mi nariz. No me levanté por como tres o cuatro minutos. Había tanta sangre allí que no sabía qué hacer. I actually laughed for a second just because it was so random and stupid.
So, I went to the emergency room, did some x-rays, and learned that I broke my nose. I went 22.5 years without a broken bone, and now the streak is over. It's not an extreme fracture, just a crack and chip on the ridge of my nose. My upper lip is incredibly swollen, entonces es super difícil para mí morder. Mi cuenca derecha está contusionada y mi nariz completamente congestionada de coágulos. 'toy bastante feo ahora. Tampoco puedo sonreirme a causa del labio. Have you ever tried to laugh without smiling? It sucks. Por lo menos me dieron medicamentos narcóticos para el dolor.
I was already highly dehydrated before the incident, so I was much more prone to go into shock. It came and went all morning and early afternoon. They also gave me codeine on an empty stomach, so I couldn't even move for a while.
I have to be honest, it's kind of funny to look at my nose right now. It's not straight anymore! Starting from my forehead/eye socket area, it comes down in sort of an 's' shape. I'm going to an ENT this week, probably on Thursday after most of the initial swelling is gone, to see what they'll do. I mean, it's not a ginormous fracture, but my nose is definitely out of wack.
Dangit, I was gonna be seeing X-Men III with Kyle right now! Bloody heck.
I hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturday.
