SNOW. AGAIN. WT....I can't believe it. It's Spring. Why is it snowing again? It was warm enough yesterday to wear shorts and sandals and tonight it's snowing. Absolutely insane. Because of the snow/rain mixture, Wendy and I couldn't take that horse carriage ride I was planning. It was going to be very romantic, actually, and she had wanted to do it for a while, but after we got out of the temple in Salt Lake, it was pouring down. The wind has been crazy here for the last 18 hours or so.
Oh yeah, so we went to Salt Lake, as you can see. We ate at the ZCMI mall there and then went to the temple. When we came out a couple hours later, there had been a total transformation. The wind was biting, and a rain/turning-to-snow-later mix was pelting our faces. We went straight to the car and drove to Provo again. We bought some Ben & Jerry's from Super Wal-Mart and spent the next couple hours parked at this place that overlooks the city, being on a small mountain or something. It was really pretty neat. We ate some ice cream and conversed and stuff/hung out for a couple hours. It was fun.
Tomorrow, I mean today since it's Sunday technically, I will get to talk with my best friend from back home, Josh. He was the best friend I had at church, and we have been through a lot together, a lot of stages of life. He's a year younger than me, so he is just getting back from his mission. In fact, I think he got back from Japan just this Friday. I haven't talked with him since January 26th, 2003. That was over three years ago. He will actually be at my house at 7:00 EDT, so I will call him and surprise him. I'm so excited. He's a good man. Nobody who reads this ever knew him since he went to Berkmar. His older brother Jason is also one of my best friends in this world. I love his whole family (well, it's the two guys and their parents, all of whom are dear friends of mine).
Tomorrow I get to cook for the whole Spanish house (36+ people). My recipe is really easy though. It's from, "A Man, a Can, and a Plan." It'll be cool, though I will have everyone farting for about three days. That's the one drawback to this recipe I have planned. As my father would say,
"You know the old refrain:
Beans, beans, they're good for your heart
Beans, beans, they're GREAT for your heart!"
