Choices, Choices

This weekend could have been another one of those weekends simply packed with things to do.  I chose to simplify, even if it meant missing out on some potentially good times with a couple of friends.

Friday night saw a chance to go to a show a mere 10 minutes walk from my place.  A 50s and 60s rock 'n roll band with a good sound was playing at a local club called the The Wheel on Cavendish Blvd.  The band, known as "Vintage Wine", is a trio who knows their stuff.  I have seen them before at a couple of Concordia shows.

Trouble was I had a full Saturday planned with curling, dining and dancing starting in the afternoon and a huge amount of shopping in the morning.  Sunday is also a full plate, with more curling and an afternoon with my daughter.

So, I chose to stay home, save money and catch up on my bitTorrents and a little TV to boot.

Did I miss out?  Based on the report from a friend who went, yes.  Did I care?  Not really.  I woke up early on Saturday, feeling refreshed and not at all sorry that I missed the show.  Saturday went extremely well and now here I sit, happy and tired and about to hit the sack for yet another early start.

Oh yes, knowing that my daughter made me some chocolate chip cupcakes for my birthday doesn't hurt either. :-)
