Another Munich update... the second
Okay, so I started classes yesterday
Intense german for four weeks will be really fun. I have to start keeping a journal about how I feel and the things around me auf deutsch so taht I start to think and dream in german. This will be awesome...
It's actaully almost harder now I think becaseu I can contact everyone in english on the internet and I can access all the news in english and the other students here, we are still speakiing a lot of english out side of class because it is so much faster, not necessarily easier. And we are all a little bit awkward simply becasue we didn't hang out at lewis and Clark together but this experience will make us close.

I tested into the lowest group which I realize is completely right even though I practically aced german 202... for one I didn't study over summer in any capacity and the second thing is that I never really learned the language of german I learned the grammar and technical aspects of it. I can build a sentence really easily if I know what things are, aka verb, adjective and so on, however, I didn't ever take the time to really try and learn the language and the nuances and the words. My vocabulary was what killed me on the placement test. I had no idea what the sentence was saying so I just didn't know what to fill in.
I wonder if this will make my other classes harder? Hmmm... I might want to start going only german and no livejournaling, but we al know that won't happen, I might just have to start writing an entire geramn paragraph and then translating it for you all. Yay!
