A few photos of JJ's quilt now that it's finished and given :)
Taken on our bed, so it's hard to see the border and corner squares which are hanging over the edge...
The corner square and the border fabric. The corner squares came about when I realised that the pattern was insanely ginormously huge - after I'd cut out all the pieces and made all the red squares. Originally it was 7x8 blocks, and I changed it to 6x6 which was still a good big size.
Here's a close-up of the label and the blue-flamed backing fabric. Sorry about the squished-in names, I hadn't expected so many extra people to go in for it less than a week before the party! And teach me to be organised and write the label so early :) The backing fabric was the first fabric I found - it was so 'JJ' that it inspired the rest of the quilt.
Another recent finished project was a skirt I made for Della - inspired by one made by
baroquestar.
Really quick and easy to make using my overlocker and a pack of pre-cut 15cm charm squares (plus two from my scraps to make the proportions better). The longest thing was trying to work out which squares to put where!
After a couple of small mending jobs are done, I won't actually have a project on the go. I think I probably need to make a quilt for Ember next :)
