I was looking over the “Student and Family Handbook 2007-2008” and found something very alarming. On the cover was stapled a piece of paper that said “Student participation in surveys (returned only if parent DOES NOT give consent)
If this form is not filled out and returned it gives them permission to question my child. I remember hearing about teen-screen, this is the same thing snuck in under the wire…how many people look at these forms let alone fill them out.
Anyway this is what the survey will consist of…
This is word for word off of their form
“Protected information surveys” include surveys that relate to political affiliations or beliefs; mental or psychological problems; sexual behavior or attitudes; or illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating, or demeaning behavior; critical appraisals of close family members; legally recognized privileged relationships such as with lawyers, doctors, or ministers; religious practices, affiliations, or beliefs; or certain income information.
Not sure what a lot of this means but I’m pretty damn sure they shouldn’t be asking my 5th grader any of these things. Pay attention people
