-- Holy CARP, it's freaking cold here... today's high was 23 degrees. The HIGH. And the wind is truly bitter.
-- Everyone has been very nice, and Emrys and his wife are wonderful hosts. I passed along hellos.
-- The fancy coffe/chocolate/candy place in town has pomegranate Jelly Belly beans. I must investigate further.
-- Did I mention that it's cold? Seriously. I feel like I'm in a foreign country.
-- Driving on I-81 through PA is like being in Purgatory. 232 miles of road and NOT. ONE. SIGN. to tell me how far away I was from the New York border. I started to lose faith that New York even existed.
-- At least 2 of the stinking little towns off of 81 were designed by crazy people. Crazy people who don't want to let me turn around unless I'm willing to take my life in my hands and do an illegal U-turn.
-- My goal for the drive home: drive through PA without stopping, if at all possible.
-- After 6 hours of driving, less than 10 miles from my goal, I hit blizzard conditions: that is, horizontal snow. Exciting!!

Thanks to all for the get well wishes. Somewhere around State College PA I suddenly felt completely normal... it was as though someone had thrown a switch. But whatever is lurking in my tummy isn't quite finished with me yet. I do get hungry, but I feel stuffed after eating just a tiny amount of food and afterwards my gut gets back at me with some discomfort and even a little nausea. Looking on the bright side, dinner was very cheap 'cause all I could manage was some soup and a little side salad!
