Needless to say I've been a little wrapped up in wedding planning. Oh yeah, and finishing my Master's degree by the end of summer!! Woot. :-)
So far we have a tentative ball on using the school farm property for the wedding...24 gorgeous acres of farm and wetlands! Catering is about wrapped up, and while I'm not fabulously in love with the caterer, she more than fulfills what we can afford. We've settled on a white tent, with half the tables inside and half outside, a staging tent for the food and a separate one for the buffet depending on THAT part of the budget. The bar will be inside the main tent.
I'm now leaning toward black wooden chairs for the ceremony, and building an arbor out of some branches, pussywillow, and seasonal flowers. We're asking a good friend of ours to become ordained for the wedding and marry us, and we have our attendants (one each) picked out.
Even though we're not going to be located at the beach (cost was just too prohibitive as was travelling for families) we'll still do casual dress for the men and my maid of honor and I will choose tea length cocktail dresses (hm, that seems like too many mixed dress metaphors!).
Next on my list is booking a photographer - we have meetings with two in the next few days - and getting our invitations out. Although we've planned for 125 people, I think it will be more like 75 - which is totally fine with me! I'd rather it be people that really want to be there than those that are coming just out of obligation.
Off to go read some more research papers (at least I have an interesting topic!) and then work out. We still have one more 10K to finish in June...and I need to beat my new PR!
