I've been growing my moustache for 10 or 11 days now, and it's gotten to the point where it's looking like maybe I missed a spot shaving on purpose for many days. Actually it's starting to feel sort of hairy up there. It's hard to describe, if you've never had a moustache, but there's a point at which you can just sort of feel hair doing curious things on your upper lip. Also the sharp ends of my moustache hairs keep poking me in the lip, so it's certainly getting longer. Yup. Here comes the moustache!
Last week my new bowler showed up. I know I just got a bowler last year, but that thing went to Europe with me and had a hell of a time. It got rained on, squished, straightened, sweated in, and basically worn a ton. I still wear it, but the brim has lost some of its curl and the felt isn't very firm any more. Even with felt-stiffener, it's just lacking any real stature. So my new bowler is a dark chocolate brown and it looks very classy. I was hoping for a lighter brown, to match my new suit. We'll see how that goes.
This weekend was very, very busy. On Friday night I had a bunch of guests over. We drank wine and had conversations and I made them all listen to a lot of bossa nova. Saturday was spent mostly in a tuxedo, doing some Masonic stuff out in Jacksonville. Then that evening I had a grand old night on the town and ran into a bunch of friends. I got to see many, many people, and I'm not going to list them all, because that would be a hassle.
On Sunday I visited a buddy in Ashland and then tried to stay mostly chilled out, doing laundry and that sort of thing. I was supposed to work over the weekend, but I just couldn't get motivated. But I did get some movie watching done, and I read a lot.
