As most of you know, I’ve been staying in the UK on a Student Visa.  There was a lot of drama involved in getting that visa, securing a place at the University of Dundee and then keeping my studies funded yet I managed, with the help of a fantastic group of supportive people, to push through and graduate last June with my Masters in English.  ( Read more... )

The last four days have been a trial.  As I'm waking up with a cuppa right now, some history revision and a pile of dishes in the kitchen sink are the only things hanging over my head.  Ooooh dishes, how horrible =)

It turns out that Mum did have a stroke.  Being prideful and stubborn she signed herself out of the hospital and went home only to deteriorate further.  Senior and Disabled services stepped up as soon as I called them directly, they did a wellness check and she went back to the hospital yesterday.  As messed up as it is I am thankful that she has ( Read more... )
