[OH GOD SO HESITANT BUT. SOB. WELL IF HE CAN SURVIVE ON GAUCHE'S TERRIBLE SOUP AND SYLVETTE'S EQUALLY TERRIBLE COOKING FOR WEEKS ON END HE'LL LIVE WITH ENGLAND'S COOKING.]
I-I... can try?
[cough cough he can't keep up the German voice for long.]
I am? But I'm from a village too! I hadn't even been to the capital until I became a Letter Bee!
That's the spirit. I'll bring you up a dish sometime tomorrow then?
[ LAG ARE YOU SECRETLY A MASOCHIST. But he's endearing himself to England either way :|bbbb ]
By village I meant country bumpkin. Prussia was just a country of potato and wheat farmers back centuries ago; he used to export grain to me all the time.
[HE REALLY IS. He barely manages to squeak out that last reply. Clearing his throat, he tries to forget the unimaginable horror he will taste tomorrow.]
Oh! Well, that doesn't sound so bad. My mom and I lived in the country. We never really had any money, and we had to grow most of our own foods and vegetables, and there was never really any light from the artificial sun where we lived, but... it was nice. I wonder what Mom would say if she ever saw-- ...i-if she ever sees a sun like this.
I know! I can't help it! I've always cried a lot, especially since I was seven. My friends always call me a crybaby, even though Sylvette must cry as much as I do.

Ah...
[He lowers his voice an octave. Lag sounds more like a kid trying to force his voice through puberty rather than a German :|]
Like this?

[ and he's really trying not to laugh. ]
Almost exactly like that. 'Course, the Prussians speak in a village accent, but you're far more sophisticated than they are.

I-I'm sorry, Mr. England. I just miss her.
