It’s putting it very mildly to say that the weather around here has sucked deeply this winter. We have had at least one snowstorm a week, the most recent one being Monday. I’m getting a little tired of shoveling, shoveling, shoveling. After the most recent storm, everyone on the street where I live got their walks and cars all dug out and ready to ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much desperately clinging to LJ myself, I do rp on tumblr as well and as a matter of fact I see people who write fics on tumblr too, but I think people are just writing less? I know a lot of writers have gone on hiatus, and some have simply stopped altogether, but I wouldn't call it ghost-town-with-tumbleweed-rolling-around dead just yet. So far I have only found one jrock fanfic on asianfanfics (though I can't say I have been stalking the page down), and I'm not on AO3 so I can't say much about that, but I think most jrock fanfiction is still on LJ, it just... quited down a bit? Oh well.
Do tell if you hear about a major migration, though, because it puzzles me as well. I thought with the bands' general growth in popularity, there would be more fanfic writers, not less.

Yeah, you'd definitely think there'd be more fanfic writing - I think it's just that people are taking up other hobbies within the fandom instead of writing. The fact that Tumblr is the go-to place for fandom now encourages graphics and video above everything else, and I've been seeing more and more RP blogs/ads showing up in the GazettE tag of Tumblr nowadays. I do hope that this is just a temporary slowdown, and fic makes a comeback!

I'm holding onto LJ and DW too!!! Tumblr just don't work that well as a conversation tool, and don't get me started on the impossibility of posting fic there. *frowny face* I have no idea either where people actually post there stuff though. :(

RP is... gods yes, can be so so so wanky! I stay the hell away from it these days, apart from really private RPing. And I want fic! Grr. LOL I am writing a tiny little bit again, so I hope not everyone will have abandoned this place by the time I post. LOL

I've seen people try to post fic to Tumblr. It never works out very well. It ends up being a HUGE post with no cut that you have to scroll and scroll and scroll past if it's not something you're interested in reading. I'm still just linking back to my LJ.

I do really private RP with a friend, also - it's the only kind I do nowadays. I was once part of one of the biggest games on LJ at the time (Atia Amat Omnes)and I swear, people spent as much time going on anonymemes and complaining about the game as they did playing in it (not to mention starting drama in the game's OOC community).

And you can't imagine how happy it makes me to hear about you writing again. ^_^

although I don´t write fan fic, I notice the same. I used to receive like 6 or fanfic a day. and now 6 or more for two days. I have searched Dream with and others and did n´t found many fics from jrock!!
I think everyone is migrating to Tumblr and RPG. although it´s not the same thing!!
i just hope you don´t quit....it will feel like an atomic bomb in creativity!!
And I hope the weather is better now!!
