(no subject)
i never update with the stuff that has actually happened which is ridiculous.
ok, a couple of weeks ago one of the cows went to the slaughterhouse because she was a pain in the arse to milk. this was horrible, because when the guy came to get her she totally knew she was not going anywhere fun and they put a thing on to cover her eyes, which i know is supposed to make her less scared but does it really? it seems mental. anyway, now that she is gone i am allowed to do the milking on my own, which i actually quite love, because i've managed to get the cows to stop kicking me, and basically i can just go round milking, talking/singing to the cows and feeling empowered at having acquired such an ultimately useless but wicked skill.
a guy came round to cut the cows hooves the other day. he succeeded in literally scaring the shit out of every single one. cows are actually such disgusting animals, i have seen two this week with shit all over their faces, one drinking another's urine, and have also noticed that piles of shit do actually steam. it was like ren and stimpy gone live action (apart from the fact that the pile of shit didn't have a name).
i am knitting a scarf and am now on my fourth colour, and have gained only 11 stiches, (i thought counting was for losers, how wrong i was).
last sunday evening i walked up a mountain and saw some views that there are just no words to describe and it was suddenly totally worth being here (did rethink that feeling at several points today alas). i am walking up an even bigger mountain this sunday which i am so excited about, it is just the best mountain, i have so many pictures of it, so having pictures from it will be fantastic.
i saw friends yesterday! its on when we have dinner but everyone went out without me so i was able to reheat the previous nights dinner and eat it in front of the tv. it was that one where joey keeps hitting ross. ah, god bless television.
the family here are going away on holiday for a few days in july so i will be home alone, very strange.
i have actually been here 6 weeks now, and have only 7 more weeks of work! thats nearly halfway!
well, i am absolutely shattered so i'm going to go and have the best (as in most necessary) shower ever and fall into bed.
