do lemmings really commit suicide? i'm sure i enraged mrs randall once by refusing to talk about anything else for an entire biology lesson but i can't remember her answer. you might have left our class by then too... aw man that was sad! we had the best class evAr in yr 12! Anyway chin up, amoebas are great.
Here is a little linky for all you emo-loving, suicide thinking peeps wanting to know about animals and their self-destruct habits. http://www.tonmo.com/articles/octosuicide.php And this is from that quality journal 'The Octopus News Magazine Online' (You heard it here first!) The author of this article disputes that lemmings commit suicide. Anyway, read away...make up your own minds crazy peeps.
Me not happy with your musings being ones of suicide young lady, whilst being a long way away and feeling 'emotastic'. Keep hanging in there (though not actually hanging though - that'd be long winded and painful me thinks) - and smile - whilst thinking of how stressed so many peeps are over here doing exams....and....um....still not having the summer I demanded..damn it!
i only thought about the suicide thing because i'm reading a really cool book, called 'the first chimpanzee' (the grabby subtitle is 'are apes descended from people?' but basically its discussing that there is evidence suggesting that our common ancestor walked upright and they went back to the trees while we didn't). it got me thinking about the traits that are selected for in evolution generally favouring survival and therefore reproduction but obv our brains being big and clever have, in today's society, the disadvantage of allowing me to become an emokid, which, had i been an amoeba, would not have happened. i don't know if that makes sense.
i am feeling a bit better today anyway, i am going to start the milking on my own today while everyone else is out at a party without me, so i must be good at my job for them to let me do that, which makes me feel smug, because seriously, what am i doing on a farm? if i can do this i can do anything! although what i really want to do is read chimpy books forever.
Chimpy books are great! :o) Hmm,, evolutionary discussion - it's one thing I don't really understand all thatmuch but I will get you to write a piece for my impending discussion website relating to the above.
Glad that you are feeling smug. Smug is good. And clearly you are very good at your job..
