I bought a new hard drive for my laptop and an enclosure for the old one. I'm excited because I figured since I was having to install a new OS onto the new hard drive, that I would try Ubuntu. There are still 3 days left on the auction and I've got $60 coming to me for that dead, stripped off what's useful to me laptop. For all that it wastes my time, I sometimes really love the internet....

So I read somewhere that Dell likes to use a special voltage RAM to prevent people like me from sticking any old RAM into them there computers. When my Dell died, I didn't bother to salvage it for the Compaq because of this reason, instead opting to sell it for parts on Ebay. My iPod just did the most random and irritating thing tonight. It decided to spontaneously delete its song and its own system software. Then it wouldn't load in the iPod updater that reinstalls its system software. Then it wouldn't reformat in the Windows Disk Checker. Then it wouldn't boot itself up, or power on.
