Side note
Ah, Friday night. This day is so bittersweet these days. Gone are the days of hanging out with friends until 3:00 in the morning. Gone are the days of sleeping in on Saturday until 11:00 AM. These new days have been here for awhile. We're not exactly strangers to staying home on Friday nights anymore. Nor are we strangers to being woken up by the pitter patter of feet at 6:30 on a Saturday morning. But sometimes it's more difficult to take in.
The stupidity of it on my part is that I will be almost as hungover in the morning as my childless peers, because I am two drinks in and I have to be up in 7 hours. But I will man up and be the happy-go-lucky person I strive to be. The kids and I will take a long walk so I can get some much needed exercise and then off to the metro we will go to help Norm's grandparents move in the afternoon.
Family becomes much more important when you have kids, because all of a sudden they're your source of entertainment. And I will take it because Norm and I have great families.
