We've stated before how much the kids like books. We've been known to bend on a lot of treats if faced with the cry "It's a book!" I mean really, they're books.
Tonight at the dinner table all three bent over backwards to tell me that
Steven Kellogg was coming to their school in a couple weeks. And they might be able to get a book signed.
My heart lept. Right after dinner I went upstairs into the special books and got my copy of
The Island of Skog. The one that Steven Kellogg signed when he visited my elementary school.
I've kept it all these years. I really want to go to their school that day. Bring my copy of the book and tell him how much it meant to me all those years ago. I loved that he signed my book and sketched a little mouse on the inside cover.
And now the kids are going to meet him too! How friggin' cool is that?!
