Legend of the Seeker Oneshot 3/7

Richard couldn’t recall dreaming so vividly in years. Ever since he became the Seeker and especially after the spell of the lying moon was casted on him, he somehow knew when he was dreaming and that took away all the excitement he would have felt otherwise, given that most of the times Kahlan was the main protagonist of his dreams. Or rather variations of half naked to naked Kahlan indulging into things he knew she would never attempt in real life. So it was surprising how amazing this dream felt; like Kahlan was really on top of him, planting kisses all over his face and neck, her new dress dangerously loose around her breasts.

“Richaaaard! Stop staring at me and kiss me already!” she requested and he couldn’t do anything but oblige; lately Kahlan was more open to kissing and allowing certain amounts of intimacy, but he could never surrender himself fully to his beloved’s kisses and caresses, for he knew that if one of them took it too far, the other would probably be unable to resist and the result would be devastating. But this was a dream and he could lose himself in Kahlan’s kisses all he wanted.

When Kahlan started unbuckling his belt all thoughts vanished from his head; he even stopped thinking that this was just a dream and let himself get as much of his Kahlan as he could.

As he begun to push Kahlan’s dress down her shoulders, feeling her strong heart beating against his chest, Cara of all people showed up, started shouting at them and when he seemed to be too absorbed in Kahlan’s beauty she became physical, tearing them apart and calling to Zedd.

“What the hell is your problem Cara? This is my dream and you shouldn’t even be here.” He shouted at her, even if it wasn’t her fault he had somehow involved her in his dream.

“Richard, this is not a dream and my problem is that if I don’t stop you, you’re gonna get yourself confessed by miss raging-hormones-drunkessor here.” Cara explained and since Richard continued looking lost, she grabbed his flask and threw all of its contents at his face.

“Why did you do-“ Richard started to complain, but stopped once he realized that the reason his dream seemed so amazing was that it wasn’t really a dream. Apparently it was drunk-Kahlan’s behavior.

“How did Kahlan get drunk? She never drinks too much in fear that she might confess someone accidentally if she drinks too much.”

“Well obviously if anyone’s getting accidentally confessed it’ll be you, so you should retain yourself from her alluring smiles and… well you know.” Cara said right when Zedd came through the trees.

“Ohh, thank the spirits you came in time, drunk confessors tend to let their powers slip at the most inconvenient times. It’s even worse than being on Con dar, nothing will restrain her if she loses control and touches you.”

“Then how will we keep her here, if none of us can touch her?”

“I believe that Kahlan has made her intentions clear, Richard. Confessors are the most highly-self-controlled beings of the Midlands; alcohol has some nasty effects on them. It strips them of any control and since what Kahlan most fights to have control of is her feelings for you, it’s what the alcohol makes her feel the most in this state. We must keep her content until the effects wear off and she’s herself again.”

“WHO ARE YOU?!?!” Kahlan started yelling at Zedd’s and Cara’s direction; her foggy mind just realized that they came and separated her and Richard.

“Kahlan, it’s okay there are our friends, remember?” Richard told her softly, reaching out for her. “Let’s just sit here and… talk.”

“But Richard, I don’t wanna talk, I want to get rid of this dress and you of those tight leather pants that just show how firm you are but get in the way and lay down and-“

“Ooookay, Zedd? I think we might need some kind of a sleeping potion or something here. I really don’t think she’s going to comply into talking or-“Richard begun to say, but was interrupted by Kahlan’s mouth coming on his and after the kiss deepened he couldn’t even remember what he wanted to say. All he wanted was more of her, to hold her tightly to feel her hair between his fingers, to-

“Nooooooo!” Zedd started screaming and Cara swiftly caught Kahlan’s arm and in two quick movements, she had the Mother Confessor against the nearest tree, struggling to get free, threatening that she would kill everyone.

“Richard, find a way to stop this or I swear I’ll use my agiels on her; I won’t let her risk your life, no matter how important she is, or how little control she has over herself.” Cara said toneless and Richard knew she meant every word; and the worst part was that he couldn’t accuse her for it.

“Just hold her there until we figure something out. Don’t let her touch you.” He warned his loyal protector and she simply nodded.

“You think she’ll be alright?” Richard asked Zedd worried; it had been six hours since they returned with the ingredients required to make a particularly strong sleeping potion, so that once Kahlan awoke she would be her normal self again. Richard expected her to have woken up by now and his mind was creating all kind of scenarios, where the potion mixed with the alcohol would leave his Kahlan dead or sleeping forever or lead her to some other terrible fate.

“Yes Richard. You know I would never endanger Kahlan’s life over something as silly as this. If I wasn’t sure the potion was safe, I would have simply taking her to the village’s jail and lock her up, so that she wouldn’t be a threat to anybody.” Zedd reassured him and right when Richard was about to protest about Zedd even thinking of doing something as brutal as throwing the Mother Confessor in a cage, she emerged from the tent she was sleeping in, looking groggy but sober.

She sat between Zedd and Richard wordlessly and only after some long awkward moments she requested to know, “How much of a fool did I make of myself?”

Richard laughed and she managed to smile a bit. “Well, let’s see, you almost confessed the Seeker, Lord Rahl and man you love, you threatened to kill the entire creation and you called me an evil abomination while I was preventing you from fulfilling your promises.” Cara replied instead of Richard; He and Zedd were worried sick all day, but she found the situation rather amusing; it was nice being able to mock the “perfect” Mother Confessor for a change.

Kahlan smiled apologetically to Richard and shamelessly said to Cara that “At least I didn’t call you an evil hag.”
