Four years ago tonight, I spent Halloween with all the lights on my first floor turned off so I could stay upstairs and build a cage for my new buddy, Risu. He was so tiny and scared then. When I went into Risu's room last night, I wore a regular shirt instead of a hoodie like I usually wear. Risu climbed onto me and immediately attempted to burrow into my side looking for the pocket in which he usually nestles. He paused briefly to lick my forearms then ran up into his "rec room." This morning I pissed off Risu. I hadn't seen him in 3 days and his food dishes were relatively full. At first I thought I was going into his room too late in the morning to see him (he usually crashes around 9:30) so today I got in there at 7:45am. No sign of him at all. Naturally I got worried. Risu is clearly affected by the change of seasons. In addition to his frequent humping of Pierogi, he's a spaz when I'm in the room with him. I can't take 2 steps toward the door without him jumping on me and running around my torso. This morning I tried to leave when Risu was in the opposite corner of the room. Wow - only 42 days left until the kidney transplant. I'm starting to get a little nervous about all the downtime in December. I still have a lot to do around the house in preparation too - stuff like cleaning, organizing and stocking up on supplies.
