I rushed home yesterday after work to find out how Kahlua was doing. She was due for a bandage change and my sister would need my help. Kahlua seemed happy when she saw me. I heard her excited barks as soon as she heard me parking in the garage. When I went inside the house, she was happily wagging her tail while jumping up and down the couch waiting for me to give her a body massage.
This was my routine every time I came home. I give her a full massage and rubdown for around 10 minutes or so.
When I’ve changed out of my work clothes, we prepared the things we needed to change her bandage.
As expected, we had a pretty hard time because her wound is still painful and she kept squirming to get away from us. I was restraining her with a full body hug while my mom held her head. My sister was the one tending to the cleaning and bandaging of her wound.
We had to repeat the ordeal twice because the first bandage didn’t stick well to her ear. It immediately came off when she shook her head. Eventually, after much cooing and struggle, we had the second bandage in place. After calming down, Kahlua happily ate her dinner.
Oh boy, there are 8 more days of this. My heart ached so much to know that she’s in pain and uncomfortable. I really really wish the wound will heal fast.
