Typhoon Hagupit

I slept lightly last night because I had Kahlua beside me. Since she is an old dog, the cold weather is not helping her arthritis. So I persuaded my mom that we keep her inside last night. Kahlua is not exactly a quiet bedside companion. She snores! Very loudly if I may add and she kept shifting positions too. So I probably got only around 3 hours of sleep at the most.

This morning when I woke up, my mom was already listening to news updates about where Typhoon Hagupit was. It had been looming over the country and while weakened, it was only today when we directly felt her presence. I decided not to go to work anymore. It turned out to be a good call because my boss texted that we could choose not to go to work if we didn’t have any deadlines or impending tasks to do.

Good thing I had submitted everything last week.

It had been raining non-stop since 9am this morning. I’m thankful that it’s only light to moderate rain and while there was a forecast of strong winds, it was only a chilly breeze so far. I finally finished all the envelope addressing I had to do for the office because of this unexpected break. I also got to finish some blogging tasks.

I’m supposed to attend a premiere tonight at The Podium but that was rescheduled because of the storm. The premiere for The Hobbit 3 was also postponed to Wednesday. Unfortunately, that’s also the night of our office Christmas party so I had to give up my tickets because I won’t be able to go to the premiere. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to see the film on the 20th with Druce.

Jammies and long socks are keeping me warm and toasty and hopefully, the storm will weaken further as it nears the Metro around 10pm tonight.
