This past weekend was Andy's first Cub Scouts Indian Pow wow.  (Hence the title of this entry.  And it's true, actually.)  It was an overnight camping trip at the local Boy Scouts camp that required me to buy or borrow a bunch of camping equipment that I didn't have or know I needed until right before the trip.

Yesterday was Andy's seventh birthday and like every year, I've sat down and spent some time mentally assessing who he is and how he has changed over time and I get all teary eyed.

Wayne and I were without kids this new year and the plans we had fell through so we went to his parents' house for the holiday.  Wayne's parents are religious people so there was no drinking as part of the festiviites but there was lots of family present and lots of food.  We played board games and laughed and had a (surprisingly) really good time ( Read more... )

This year, for the first time, the boys won't be with me on Christmas morning.

I've been trying to be a big girl about it and recognize the fairness of it, that it was inevitable, that Wayne has dealt with this and all of the rational stuff of which I am quite aware.

But that doesn't stop the tears from falling or my heart from breaking.

It seems like I always update LJ on mornings when it's raining and miserable outside.  Well, it certainly makes my avatar appropriate.

Joey is driving me crazy.  Someone needs to hire me just so that I can have a few hours a day where no one is calling me every thirty seconds to ask for candy or to change the DVD or inquire about the location of a ( Read more... )

This must totally be a country thing because I had never heard of it until I was talking to my friend, Jennifer, on Thursday.  A Candy Drop.  What is a candy drop?  Basically, an ultra-light airplace flies low over a field full of kids and drops candy for them to scramble around and pick up.  They did this at a local orchard/farm along with other ( Read more... )

There is still luau stuff all over my living room.  I went to Target yesterday to buy a bigger plastic bin to store everything in, but I haven't packed it all up yet.  At this point, luau stuff is rivaling my collection of Christmas decorations.  Seriously.
