1. The leisure time my unemployment is giving me fills me with a heady glee. My ingrained work ethic frowns reprovingly at the glee from the corner of my mind, but isn't taking any further steps at the moment.
2. Possibly the work ethic is letting the glee have its wicked way because I'm still getting up at six in the morning (ahem, mostly) and accomplishing things that have been on backlog.
3. I finally got the trailer hitch installed on the new recumbent bike last week, making me much more mobile for shopping. The rig is approximately as long as a small car, prompting many double takes and much commentary. I took the whole shebang out for an extended shopping trip on Tuesday, returning with about 80 pounds of such treasures as flour, sugar, fabric and of course, books. It handled very well.
4. After several years on hiatus, I've picked up a library card. I'm now spending my time between sewing while watching videos and catching up on authors whose new books I never quite got around to buying.
5. The weather has been lovely. A gentle end to a somewhat erratic summer.
