Raheem and I always get pissed when there's horror with nudity or any kind of misogyny. The other day I went thru my collection.... and to my surprise, I discovered while a lot of which i have comes from the "exploitation years" (70's & 80's), I realized that the best titles in horror don't have any nudity....
The Shining
Aliens 1-4
Predator
Poltergeist 1-3
Child's Play
Evil Dead II
The Exorcist
The Thing
They Live
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Blob (the only good remake ever...)
Pumpkinhead
Sleepaway Camp
Bad Taste
Dead Alive (aka Braindead)
The Lost Boys
and the one that blows my mind.... Texas Chainsaw.... -coming outta the 70's (the boom of sexploitation) and directed by Hooper... you'd think it be covered in misogyny....
So in retrospect, it's wonderful to know that the best stuff out there, doesn't need sex to sell itself. -just good old fashion suspense, gore, action.... or whatnot....
*** Please lemme know any other classics I may have missed!! and/or correct me if I'm wrong on any of the aforementioned movies... (I'm 99.99999% all of them are clean...)
