In The Forest of the Night airs tomorrow - the last standalone Doctor Who ep before the two-part season finale. At this point last season, just before Neil Gaiman's Nightmare In Silver graced our screens, I posted my
summary of Clara theories, which has now once more become relevant in light of the end of Flatline. This time, I was intending to

I might not write anything this week, juts point people over here!
Thank you for pulling together all the eye things - when I got that far in my Kill the Moon meta I was ready to collapse...
Whilst all of the Doctor's MANY comments on Clara's physical appearance have made me slightly uncomfortable this season
They haven't bothered me at all, and I think it's because of Clara's attitude. She's good looking, she knows it, and his comments don't affect her at all. If she had crippling self-esteem issues, it'd be different. But as it is, they point to his issues and his strange view of the world.
He has become 'Schrodinger's Doctor', and needs Clara to 'see' him to be sure that he exists.
No wonder he's so worried she'll leave.
Obviously, that someone is Missy - but who is she? To them? And is she working for anyone else? The predominant theory on the interwebs is that she is the Master, which I very much hope is true.
You and me both. Although there's also speculation that she could be Clara.

Hee! No problem. Feel free to send people here. This is not nearly as structured or well-argued as your meta-essays, but it feels good to have written it so it's no longer all in my head. There's just so much!

Yeah, and I think that's why I'm not MORE bothered. It is definitely an issue with HIS perception of the world/himself and I know Clara is mostly amused by it all, and doesn't let it bother her. It's more just the fact that kit unfortunately plays into a much larger problem in media generally, where women's bodies are just there to be commented on, and certain parts of Moffat-hating fandom are using this as further 'evidence' of his 'misogyny'. Obviously I disagree with them completely.
No wonder he's so worried she'll leave.Mmm. Quite. Look what happened to him last time all his companions left him. Oh, and the time before that…and Twelve is *much* less personable than Ten or Eleven were - once ( ... )

Far, far too much for one person... So I am very grateful for your excellent work and will most definitely send people here!

These people should all be forced into watching Press Gang. Or just have Lynda Day shouting at them until they begged for mercy. >:)

YES GOOD. (Not that I've seen Press Gang, but I know about Lynda Day!) Argh why are people so rubbish.
He could always just abduct someone the way he did Ian & Barbara…
Ahaha, lol that would actually be a really hilarious call-back. I would really like to see some different Companion intros. Maybe a TARDIS stowaway, or a Companion from the past/future. Actually, what I'd REALLY like one of these days is an old-school handover between companions - there used to be crossover between them! It was like an unbroken oral storytelling tradition, handing the Doctor over from Companion to Companion. We haven't had that in the new series.
And there's another idea further down (if you look at the whole post), the very last comment, I think.Oh wow, there's LOTS of stuff going on there! Hmmmm. I agree with you that the possibility of Missy actually *being* some aspect of Clara is probably too complicated, but she ( ... )

I don't have anything really relevant to add, but I had a great time reading your points and questions :) Thanks for sharing!

The Doctor being judged thing is very theoretical…but I would very much like it to come to something!

It'd certainly be really interesting! We'll see how it turns out :)
