So I officially hate USB drives. You know those little thumb-sized things you can save files onto??? Well I have had mine for a little over a year and it has been a lifesaver. I take it everywhere and work on my papers in the library and can bring them back to my dorm and finish them up on my laptop. So I was saving my research project for the ( Read more... )

wow! those pictures are great! i would be so scared to hold the snake. they freak me out.

so...anywho right now i'm in washington doing my college search and getting more and more confused on what i want to major in. i thought i was sure that i wanted to major in elementary ed but now i'm kinda interested in pharmacy and hospitality. tomorrow we're visiting u of washington. i'm also confused on what school i want to go to. so far WSU is my number one. perhaps that will change tomorrow. who knows...? i'm just confused about everything right now.

hehe. i love snakes. You might too if you got to know them, they are so cool!

College searching is really hard, esp. for military kids!! I really hope you get it all figured out. I kinda just randomly chose one so I know how you feel! Maybe you should go to Colorado State :D. Hehe. I wish you were coming closer, but oh well. Maybe we can visit each other anyways!! Its closer than Japan! BTW, my advice for choosing a school is to choose the school that has all (or most) of the majors you are considering and the school you feel most comfortable like its home. That, in a nutshell is the important stuff. Its not what has the best program or whatever, but just as long as they have the programs you are interested in and you feel like you belong there. I will pray for you that you find the right place!! I miss you, Jenni.

you are totally right. the reason that WSU is number one is because they have everything i want and so even if i change my major it won't be like they don't have it there. today i went to visit UW and it was pretty overwhelming. it was a beautiful campus but i heard that because there are so many people there that you're just a number and the classes are huge so prof. don't really get to know you that well. i think i'd do fine a big school but like you said i should go somewhere that is comfortable, and i like to know my teachers and stuff. so...we'll see how it goes. i miss you so much!!!

and...of course we'll have to visit. that's one of the reasons i'm looking forward to going to college. maybe we'll be able to meet in the middle or something...

hope your research paper is going well!

Actually I've found size not to be a big deal either. There were a little less than 300 students in my chemistry class my second semester and because I went to all his office hours and extra help sessions, he not only knew me by name but we actually had normal conversations more than once. It all depends on how much you try to get involved and how hard you try in the class. In my Calculus class (75 students) my teacher also knew my name b/c I was always at her extra help sessions and I think knowing her made a huge difference in my grade too. In fact the only class my teacher didn't know my name for the second semester is my plant biology class (about 200 students) because I didn't need to know my teacher b/c it was easy!! :) My school is very big (~25,000) and I see AT LEAST one person I know when I walk across campus, usually 2 or more people. It really surprises you. Just get involved and go to extra help sessions! :D
