So I checked out ECSU and UConn some more last night. They both have some classes I'd be interested in, but not nearly the number or variety that MCC has that I'd love to take. Funnily enough, ECSU has 4 Advertising classes I'd enjoy...
I'd consider approaching either school to do an Individualized Major, but the classes I'm interested in are so varied and different that I'd have to work hard to think of a cohesive "major" they'd all fit in to. I'll look at it as a challenge and see. The classes seem to revolve around not-Literature writing (technical, business, opinion, magazine, etc), editing, PR, publishing, language/grammar, and publishing & design software (web design, desktop publishing, excel, etc). Using the English language as a tool, and making it do my bidding on the page. Is there a degree in Making English My Bitch?
I know I said I'd just wait until after my D.C. trip to really decide, but I'm feeling all impatient. I'm so glad to have not had school this past "semester", but I do miss it at the same time. Plus it'd be nice to have an answer when people at work ask me what I'm "doing." Apparently "working here" isn't an acceptable answer? :P
At work, as usual. Just finished reading through the
asivt archives. Comic about life in Vermont written by a friend of Katie King's, pointed out to me by Katie's mother, who recently joined Curves. Complicated enough? ;) She also gave me her homemade soap, which smells lovely and will no doubt be awesome once it's done...doing what it needs to do to be soap. Forget the term. Yeah.
Woke up feeling exhausted, with no appetite and the beginnings of a migraine behind my right eye. Forced down a Carnation breakfast thing and most of a bagel. The plan for today, after work, is to go to Ryan's, grab the microwave, go to Sears to have them either fix or replace the microwave, get groceries, and go home. I wish I could just go there and crash, but alas, no. Tomorrow is Mother's Day and we'll be busy, Monday I have work and he has Justin, Tuesday we're both busy, Wednesday I'm leaving. Sooo it's today or, like, the 20th. Which is the day before my birthday and my next dentist appointment. Whee!
I may have to pop over to the convenience store for a Coke or something. My head hurts, I'm not awake, both require caffeine and I really dislike coffee. Hot chocolate doesn't have enough caffeine, so soda is my only option. While I'm at Curves. >.<
So, I'll go play more with classes and majors and caffeine and WAKING THE HELL UP.
