Greetings all, I'm here in sunny Israel and its wonderful. I'm catching up on sleep and working towards being on the correct time zone but its harder than the last time, mostly (I think) because I'm a little sleep deprived from the U.S. to begin with. I keep waking up at random points in the night and then having the most difficult time falling back asleep. Might just be the heat too.

Life is good however, fresh pitot (the plural in Hebrew for the singular pita) for breakfast and really fresh fruit. Like, amazingly ripe. Its really fantastic. On the subject of food and drink, for all of you reading who live in PA where the liquor laws are brutal here in sunny Ra'anana beer and other bottled alcoholic drinks (like Smirnoff Ice and the Bacardi nonsense) are sold in the supermarkets next to RedBull and wine and various liquors are in a medium sized display near the cheese and meat counters. Rather odd to my US sensibilities but no matter. I promise to take pictures and post them, its a very different supermarket than I'm used to. Other differences here include having your bag checked/searched when you go into a mall and really crap driving. Also, the concept of fall is rather silly - its hot until October when it begins to cool off but in the north where I am the coldest it might get is 14 degrees C....about 60 in F.

Not much has happened yet, I'm actively searching for a new bathing suit being rather sadly overdue however Israeli's have a very different sense of style. I found one that fit but in the very Israeli way of 'it covers your nipples what more do you want?'. And frankly, thats a little small for my chest. So I'll keep looking and leave those suits to the people with chests smaller than mine. Rather a shame too, it was a really nice bikini.

Well, thats all for now. I'll keep posting as things happen so Ar revoir and Shalom!

-Sarah
