I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25
So, H is up to Doomed in the Buffy season 4 holiday viewing. (Riley's call-name is lilac! This still amuses me.)
I hate that I can't watch more of this season. It has such fantastic lines ("she who hangs out in cemeteries") and Beer Bad and Hush and Tara Fear, Itself and Restless and the awesome fights and Superstar... yet the season arc drags the whole thing down. And oh, God, Riley's an idiot overall but then...
*distracted by fantastic conversation between Buffy and Riley*
And I get pissed off at Giles because of what they did with him in season six and seven and I sit here snarking about how the Initiative is the worst plot arc ever and OMG lamest commandos in existence and sporking Angel in Pangs (I have issues)... but individually there are some fantastic episodes.
But then I get into the overall arc and then *Spike trying to stake himself* sorry, and then I get into the parts that frustrate me and I just go and get out my season five DVDs because I like that arc.
I'm all about the Buffy. Much like I'm all about the Rogue. I have character prejudices, yes.
There is no point to this. I just... wish that the overall arc in season four pissed me off less because there are some great episodes. It's just that the arc sucks monkey.
