I had the worst luck on Monday, probably the unluckiest day of this whole year. Seriously, it was a whole day of misses and failures. All piled up on top of each other.
Miss #1:
I was actually on time getting up and got out the house by 7:25. I decided to take 85 to Bathurst, then switch to 88 to Promenade station so I can catch Viva Purple. Usually, it saves me time. BUT 88 was 10 minutes late, causing me to miss viva purple. I waited another 8 minutes (which was what the machine said), but it didn’t show up for another 15 minutes on top of the 8. I got on the viva purple by 8:15. Of course, it would take a lot longer than 15 minutes to get to York. But luckily I only ended up being a few minutes late to class. (I hate being late for that class cuz the prof makes a big deal about it.)
Failure #1:
I didn’t realize it was so cold so I didn’t dress properly. I was already feeling a cold coming and by the time I got home that afternoon, I was officially sick.
Failure #2:
I also didn’t realize that Christmas hours would start on November 30, assuming that it started in December so I worked 1 hour more than I thought I would.
Failure #3:
We had to change the amount of float for our till and I was being stupid and messed up. We could’ve left by 9:30, but since I messed up, we stayed till 10.
Failure #4:
I rented DVDs from the library on Thursday and they were due on the 30th (Monday). I figured since we were going to be closing at 9:30, I could’ve caught the 9:40 83 bus. But since we didn’t, I missed it. And for some reason I thought I would catch the 10:10 bus. So I waited outside by 9:50, thinking I should wait earlier just in case. I stayed till 10:20 before I realized that 9:40 was the LAST bus and that 10:10 bus only exists during the morning.
Failure #4.5:
I forgot my mittens. I was scared walking home in the dark so I talked on the phone with Tami and Mike. My hands were frozen!
Failure #5:
I didn’t end up returning the DVDs. (I went this morning and the nice lady scanned it in as yesterday’s return so I avoided paying $12 of overdue fees.)
Miss #2:
I decided to walk instead of waiting for the bus because I didn’t trust buses by the end of the night. Half way home, 85 passed me.
Failure #6:
I didn’t realize this failure until afterwards. I had to buy bus tickets and I decided to buy one of those scratch and win cards. Of ALL the days I could’ve and wanted to buy one, I bought it on the day I was having THE worst luck.
Obviously, I did not win and wasted $2.
Miss #3:
I got hired by Esprit (yay!) and was told to “come by anytime on Monday”. So I ended up going at 8 cuz I had to do a lot of things and couldn’t make it earlier. The manager said she’ll leave paper works behind. But when I showed up, there wasn’t any and this other girl called the manager. Apparently, I was supposed to show up around 3:30. So now I have to go in again on Wednesday.
Miss #3.5:
I had a counselling appointment on Monday, but had to cancel because I got scheduled for work. So I moved the appointment to Wednesday. But because of Miss #3, I had to reschedule the appointment again.
Failure #7:
I forgot to pay my visa bill. I called around 11:30 to ask the telephone service to help me transfer the money. Usually, it transfers right away but I’m not sure if I was cutting it too close. I might have to pay interest next month. It’s gonna cost me. >_<
By the end of the day, while I was talking to Mike, I was so upset I started laughing (after swearing my head off into the phone). It was just too ridiculous.
Phew. I’m just glad that it’s over. But it was really one of the most off days of this year.
