The power went out for an entire hour at school today. Like, the entire campus was completely out of power...but no classes were cancelled. Profs were moving their classes into rooms with windows so that they could lecture, the frat boys were playing games on the lawn in the quad (okay, that's a really weird word), people were hanging out in dark buildings and attempting to study. It was strange.
It was 98 degrees outside today. I'm guessing too many people used their airconditioners this morning and the dreaded rolling blackout happened as a result.
Ummm, shouldn't there be some sort of back-up plan considering the fact that analysts predict that the population in Stanislaus County will reach 1 million in 10 years? I mean, if we don't have enough power now...imagine what it's going to be like when the population nearly doubles.
(sidenote: I still maintain that there's something inherently sexy about the heat)
